The Principality of Andorra, although being not a large state, smaller than some regions, however, contains many attractions located in a such small compass, which makes this country an excellent choice for, for example, weekend tours. Add to this the European level of service, coupled with lower prices, and you have a real tourist Mecca.
So what to see in Andorra.
1. Church of St. John
An old building of the XI-XII centuries on the borders of Canillo. It’s Romanesque style fits stunningly into the picturesque mountainous area. It is notable by a bell tower and many other unique details. You can’t pass by this church, because it is included in the route of any bus excursion around Andorra.
2. Soldeu
This ski resort is very conveniently connected by a net of trails and lifts with two more resorts El Tarter and Canillo. It opens the opportunity for free travel and visiting so many cool places at once! It is best to rest here from December to April.
3. Casa de la Val House Museum
The historic building of the old parliament of the city and now it is a museum. Everything was left in its original form here: the meeting room, kitchen, living room, and so on. An excursion there allows you to plunge into the true Middle Ages! Not lush and rich, but real.
4. Church of Santa Coloma
It looks more like a military fortification than a temple. Its interior decoration is also very modest. The church has remained a striking example of rare pre-Romanesque architecture. By the way, it is still working, so you can take communion, as our ancestors did hundreds of years ago.
5. Valley of Incles
A place that will take your breath away. That very beautiful symbiosis of natural beauty and human work. There is a road along the valley, with many cozy hotels and cafes await tourists along. Having driven here once, it will forever remain in your heart.
6. Tobacco Museum
They say they make the best cigars in all of Europe. The museum was opened in 1999 in this distillery and now smokers have an opportunity not only to learn a lot about the past and present of tobacco production but even tastes a cigar here!
7. Vallnord Arinsal
Quite young, a stunning resort in a very picturesque setting. It is distinguished by a modern approach: competent division of trails for children and adults, for experienced skiers and amateurs. If you are still not so nice with skis, then this resort is what you need.
8. Ski resort Grandvalira
The largest and, perhaps, the most famous resort of the principality, which started work in 1956. Here, everyone will find a track and get what they were looking for. Stunning sunsets, beautiful photos, breathtaking descents. There is even a kindergarten for children!
9. Spa center Caldea
It would be a sin not to use this thermal center for the benefit of humanity. The delightful landscape of this place amazes the eye and the healing properties of the body. A great place for a romantic getaway or for a family. The biggest in Europe, by the way!
10. Lake Egnolasters
And, of course, the Engolasters Lake. Its peculiarity is its location at an altitude of more than 1.5 km above sea level. Some prefer to get it by route, while some prefer to climb on their own, by foot. The last option is not the easiest, but the fullest of emotions and panoramas.
